Terms of Service

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. BY DOWNLOADING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE KEEPTIES MOBILE APPLICATION ("KEEPTIES" OR "THE APP"), YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS. IF YOU DO NOT EXPRESSLY AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE APP.

These terms and conditions (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Fjord Studio ("we", "us", "our"). Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

Name change: KeepTies was called Orbit until September 2026. It is the same app, the same account and the same package name (com.fjordstudio.orbit); only the name changed.

1. Agreement to these terms

By downloading, accessing, or using KeepTies, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. "You" means you, the user of the app.

2. Who can use KeepTies

You must be at least 13 years old to use KeepTies. Where your country sets a higher minimum age of digital consent (for example 16 in some EU countries), you may use KeepTies below that age only with the consent of a parent or guardian. By using KeepTies you confirm that you meet these requirements and that the information you give us is accurate.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Accounts created with an email address must verify that address with the one-time code we email you before the app can be used.
• Contact us at support@keepties.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
• You can delete your account at any time from within the app.

4. Licence to use KeepTies

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use KeepTies for your own personal, non-commercial relationship management, subject to these Terms. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use KeepTies for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others (including the privacy and data-protection rights of people you add — see Section 7);
• reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or tamper with the app, or attempt to bypass its security, rate limits, usage quotas, or billing;
• access the app's backend other than through the official app — for example via scripted, automated, or high-volume requests;
• upload malicious code or otherwise attempt to disrupt or overload the service;
• use the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, harassing, hateful, or abusive content; or
• resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app or its content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

6. Your content

"Your Content" means the contacts, notes, interaction logs, reminders, messages, and other information you enter into KeepTies.

• You retain ownership of Your Content.
• You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the app to you — including sending a limited amount of context to our AI providers when you request an AI feature (see the Privacy Policy).
• You are responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the right to store it.

7. Information about other people

KeepTies lets you store information about other people (your friends and family). You are responsible for that information and for having a lawful basis to record and keep it, and for honouring any request from those people to correct or delete it. Please do not store information you are not entitled to keep. See Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

8. AI-generated suggestions

• KeepTies can generate suggestions, message drafts, improvements and, with Premium, analyses of how you keep in touch, using third-party AI providers (Anthropic and/or OpenAI).
• AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. It is provided as assistance only — review it before you send it or rely on it. You are responsible for anything you choose to send.
• AI usage is limited. Free accounts and guests get one try of each AI feature (an idea, a message, a card's text and an assistant message), which is not renewed. Premium has daily limits. We may change those limits, apply rate limiting, or temporarily disable AI features to protect the service.
• Do not rely on AI output for medical, legal, financial, or other important decisions.

9. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

• KeepTies is free to use. KeepTies Premium is an optional, auto-renewing subscription. It needs a KeepTies account (an email address you have verified, or Google) and cannot be bought as a guest.
• Pricing: Premium Monthly US$6.99/month; Premium Yearly US$39.99/year (or the local equivalent shown at checkout). Prices may vary by region and may change; we will give notice where required by law or by Google Play.
• Free trials: Google Play may offer a free trial when you subscribe: 7 days on Premium Yearly and 3 days on Premium Monthly. Trials are for people who have not subscribed to KeepTies before, and Google Play decides whether your account can have one. Cancel in Google Play before the trial ends and you are not charged; otherwise the first payment is taken when it ends, at the price shown before you subscribed.
• New-member price: if you have not had Premium before (no subscription and no founding-member Premium), Premium Yearly can be had for a lower price in its first year for 48 hours (US$24.99 for the first year, then US$39.99/year, or the local equivalents shown at checkout). If Google Play also gives your account a free trial, this offer starts with 7 days free. The 48 hours start the first time the app shows you the offer, are not extended, and are offered once per account and once per phone (see the Privacy Policy, Section 2.10). If your founding-member Premium ends and you have not subscribed, the same price is offered for 48 hours from the first time the app shows you that it has ended. The price, the renewal price and the date of the first payment are shown before you subscribe.
• Payment: billing is handled by Google Play. By subscribing you authorise Google Play to charge your selected payment method. We never see your card or payment details.
• Auto-renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel, and is charged within 24 hours before the next period begins (per Google Play).
• Cancellation: you can cancel anytime in Google Play (Play Store → Subscriptions, or the "Manage subscription" link in the app). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Premium until then.
• Refunds: refunds are handled by Google Play under its policies. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or right of withdrawal you have that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.

10. Third-party services

KeepTies relies on third-party services including Google (Firebase and Google Play) and AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI). Your use of the app may also be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability is outside our control.

11. Intellectual property

KeepTies — including its software, design, and the "KeepTies" name and logo — is owned by Fjord Studio and protected by applicable laws. Except for Your Content and the licence granted to you in these Terms, nothing here transfers any intellectual-property rights to you.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KeepTies is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI output will be accurate or suitable for any purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you, and your mandatory legal rights are not affected.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fjord Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of (or inability to use) KeepTies. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where that cannot be done by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your mandatory consumer rights. Where our liability cannot be fully excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum amount permitted by law.

14. Termination

• You may stop using KeepTies and delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, or where necessary to comply with law or to protect the service or other users.
• On termination, your licence to use the app ends. Account deletion removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of KeepTies after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Norway, unless mandatory law allows you to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction.
